watermelon + pear green smoothie


Watermelon Smoothie

Wow! It’s been soooo long since I’ve done a blog, sorry peeps. Today I was so excited about my green smoothie though that I just had to share. To be fair, it’s not often I make a green smoothie I’m excited about so this is quite a big deal for me :)

The thing I like most, in addition to the yummy watermelon flavor and the fact it’s green and good for me is that it’s really more the consistency of juice. Sometimes I really hate the thought of a thick, creamy smoothie in the morning so I don’t have them, but this was really easy to drink and I had 32oz in no time at all!

Ingredients (makes 32oz / 4 cups)

  • 1 cup torn kale leaves, stems removed – I used curly green
  • 2 cups baby spinach
  • 1 ripe green pear
  • 2 cups watermelon
  • 1 cup filtered water

Instructions:

  • Layer ingredients in a blender in this order – I find the greens take a little longer to blend
  • Blend until smooth

Yum!
