banana + hemp smoothie

Banana and Hemp Smoothie

Last night I bought a lettuce and a bunch of bananas… This morning I have a green breakfast! Who said this was difficult?… so read my FB page on Sunday morning, accompanied by a photo of my thick delicious green smoothie.

And it’s true – it’s not difficult, I have just had a stupid little voice in my head lately telling me making juice and smoothies and other raw goodies (that I used to love making) is all too hard and time consuming. So, having become tired of feeling tired, and with the added motivation of a friend in a similar situation, I have been slowly but surely increasing my raw goodness again… a green smoothie felt like a major accomplishment on the weekend and it was super easy!

Ingredients (for 32oz)

  • 1 organic romaine lettuce
  • 4 organic bananas
  • 3 organic medjool dates
  • 3 tbls raw, organic hemp seeds
  • 1.5oz organic sunflower greens (optional but good for you!)
  • 1 cup filtered water
Instructions:
My dates were a little hard so I blended them with the water first, then added everything else. Serve in your favorite glass (or jar). It’s so creamy my glass straw stands up by itself :)
Cheers to easy, happy-making smoothie making!
xx

  1. Thank you so much for your hard work in persevering and progressing with your vegan adventures and documenting them for us, and especially for your candour and your work of self-reflection, which make it such a genuine and living record. Your blog has been a great resource for me; I’ve read it all over the last few days and taken so much from it, and related to your thoughts many times.

    • Thank you so much for the lovely feedback Siobhan! Perfectly timed as I have been finding inspiration a little lacking recently but want to get back into it. Would love to keep in touch as you work through your own journey xx
